About Me ...
I am an Australian contemporary abstract and mixed-media artist whose practice is driven by curiosity, spontaneity, emotion and a deep instinct to create. My work is an ongoing exploration of landscape, texture, material and the emotional responses that landscapes can evoke.
I am particularly inspired by the Australian landscape, its vastness, changing light, rugged escarpments, ridgelines, waterways, weathered earth and the quiet spaces in between. Rather than attempting to recreate a landscape literally, I take elements of what I see and experience and translate them into abstract compositions. I am interested in capturing the atmosphere, energy and emotional character of a place rather than simply depicting what it looks like.
Every Work Is Unique
Every original painting is individually constructed and entirely unique.
Because my process is layered, intuitive and physically responsive, no two works can be recreated in exactly the same way. The materials interact differently, marks evolve unexpectedly and the painting continually influences the decisions that follow.
For me, this is one of the most exciting aspects of creating. I begin with an idea, but the finished work is often something I could not have completely imagined at the beginning.
My practice continues to grow through experimentation, exploration and discovery. I am constantly asking what a material can do, what a surface can become and how far I can push abstraction while still creating a connection with the viewer.
As Georgia O’Keeffe expressed so beautifully, “I had to create an equivalent for what I felt about what I was looking at, not copy it.” This idea resonates strongly with my own practice. I am not seeking to reproduce the landscape as it appears, but to translate what I experience within it into colour, texture, movement and form.
Every painting has a story, but the meaning is not mine alone to define. As Pablo Picasso said, “A picture lives only by the one who looks at it.”
I believe art becomes something more when the viewer brings their own experiences, emotions and imagination to it. My hope is that each painting invites the viewer to pause, look closer and discover something that is uniquely their own.

Recent Commissioned Work
These three artworks were created as commissioned pieces, each thoughtfully developed to reflect the individual character of the commission.
While they may appear similar at first glance, no two artworks are ever exactly alike. Each piece features subtle variations in composition, scale, colour and texture, with distinct treatments across the upper, lower and central sections.
